Mythic Invites Players Back To "Camelot" on July 14, 2005. Retired "Dark Age of Camelot" Accounts Are Active and Characters Await Action in the War Between the Realms
Mythic Entertainment, developer and publisher of massively multiplayer online games including "Dark Age of Camelot" and the recently announced "Warhammer" MMO, today announced the "Come Back to Camelot" Campaign, which invites past "Dark Age of Camelot" players to experience the game's upgrades and additions free of charge for ten days. From July 14th through the 24th, anyone with a retired account can log into the game, and their character will be waiting for them, just as they left it.
“The war between the Realms is still raging, and past players’ characters await – now is the time to get back into the game, and experience a new 'Dark Age of Camelot,'” said Jeff Hickman, executive producer for "Dark Age of Camelot." “Frequent upgrades, additions and response to community feedback mean that the game has been constantly improving. Plus, the addition of new 'Classic' servers lets players experience the rush of Realm vs. Realm(TM) combat without having to complete the 'Trials of Atlantis' to be competitive.”
Players returning to "Dark Age of Camelot" will experience a wealth of new areas to explore and features that make Realm vs. Realm (RvR) combat even more thrilling. Over the past year, Mythic has implemented changes that allow players to lay siege to enemy castles and reduce rivals’ keeps to rubble, explore a vast underworld of magical cities and deadly catacombs, and see the world and its inhabitants in unprecedented detail with new high-resolution textures. "Dark Age of Camelot" has never been better; “Come Back to Camelot” is a great chance for past players to come and see all of the fun the game has to offer.
The “Come Back to Camelot” Campaign is available to players whose accounts were cancelled in good standing prior to June 27, 2005. Eligible players must log back into their accounts from July 14-24 to be eligible for the 10 free days of "Dark Age of Camelot."
