Nintendo Renames Their Next Console on April 28, 2006.
A name that inspires the immature two year old in us all.
"Revolution" was a name that had caught on with many people as the buzz for Nintendo's next console grew in 2005 and the first couple months of this year. In a surprise move, Nintendo has decided that the popular codename for their next console isn't what they believe fits it best. Instead, Nintendo has opted to name the console Wii (as in "we"). Reactions across the internet have been fairly mixed. One cannot deny that the name is quite odd at first glance, but once the initial two year old "wee wee" jokes pass on, the focus should (hopefully) once again return to the actual console and its games.
The new name for the Nintendo console was revealed yesterday.
