All New Steam Client Update Released on November 14, 2007. Valve announced today, that a new update to the Steam client is available. The fixes they listed do not include anything particularly earth shattering, but are still worth a look.

- Fixed preloaded versions of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare being unable to
launch
- Fixed Friends notifications being able to go top-most over the top of the tray
context menu
- Fixed it being hard to get rid of the tray context menu without actually
making a menu selection
- Fixed Friends names sometimes being used for Clan names, or vice versa
- Fixed a rare crash when attempting to install a game
- Allow two shortcuts to use the game base .exe
- Added ability to create desktop shortcuts for shortcut apps
- Added "-gameidlaunch" command line support, lets you launch an app from a
desktop shortcut based on gameid
- Fixed Friends bug where the client would not request details for the very last
Friend in their list, but would instead request their own details
- Fixed case where apps would only localize to English
