Sony Bundles Up With Solid Snake and Kratos on February 26, 2008.
Two new bundles are announced by Sony, one including one of the most anticipated games of this console cycle.
Sony Computer Entertainment of America announced today that two new hardware bundles will be released in 2008. The first is an all new PSP (Slim Model) bundle featuring a copy of the newest God of War game, titled "Chains of Olympus". The portable title has already garnered critical praise and it seems Sony is hoping that translates to hardware sales as well. The PSP bundle will also include the 2007 comedy hit, "Superbad" and a PSN Store voucher for a download of "Syphon Filter: Combat Ops". It will retail for $199 and is expected to hit stores in June 2008.
Sony's second announcement has proved to be a relatively massive one for fans of the popular Metal Gear Solid franchise. Sony announced that the highly anticipated Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots will come packed in with the Playstation 3 80GB model, to be released in Q2 of 2008.
The console bundle will cost around $500, which has actually been the most recent pricing of the 80GB model that was packed with the racing title, Motorstorm.
In addition to Metal Gear Solid 4, the bundle will also feature one Dualshock 3 controller. The controller will feature both the Sixaxis motion control technology featured in the previous controller model, along with the rumble technology that fans have been clambering for ever since the release of Sony's console.
Obviously this is big news both for fans of the Metal Gear Solid franchise and for those who have been holding out on buying a Playstation 3 console in anticipation of the game's release.
