TDK Mediactive Europe, a leading entertainment software publisher, announced today the release of its latest action-adventure game for the Nintendo GameCubeTM system. "Darkened Skye" is a third-person action game set in a timeless fantasy world combining magic, evil, fantasy and humour with combat and fast-paced gameplay.

About "Darkened Skye"
Skye of Lynlora is a shepherdess with a restless spirit, a taste for adventure, and a smart mouth. Her humdrum existence is forever changed one day when she discovers magic and is chosen to battle the darkness.
Armed with her wits, spells and weapons, Skye finds herself on a quest for five ancient prisms that can save the world from evil. But at least she's not alone. There's her snide sidekick, the obligatory wise-old-knows-everything character and the mysterious love interest who has a bad habit of disappearing just when he's needed.
Skye's mission: Cast spells. Unravel the secrets of her past. Trade wisecracks. Kick monster butt. Save the world.

Characters include:
Skye: A recent graduate of Lynlora High's Gifted and Talented Program, Skye is currently employed as a Dwentil herder and is a staunch opponent of Lord Necroth's reign over the Five Lands. Her dry wit and sarcastic tone have made her something of an outcast among the other shepherds, but those close to her know that her intelligence and combat skills make her a force to be reckoned with...at least to Lord Necroth's minions!
Draak: This mouthy little gargoyle hails from Stoneheath (actually, he sat for three centuries above the entrance to the Stoneheath Cathedral). Another adversary of the wrath of Lord Necroth, Draak has taken up the call to arms and sided with Skye as her "know-it-all acerbic tongued" assistant (he hates to be called a sidekick!). Presently, he hangs out in the gargoyle carving at the end of Skye's staff and is seeking help for what he calls his "minor problem with authority."
The Birdkeeper: Making his home in beautiful Zen'jai, The Birdkeeper had watched over the Five Birds of Harmony... that is, until the ancient red prism was stolen by an ally of Necroth's. This forced the humble Birdkeeper to set the birds free, shutting off the prism's power and inviting darkness and disharmony into his land. He's enlisting help in returning the birds, and invites any and all to help restore the harmony. No word yet on the size of the reward!
Gannish: Lynlora's answer to the Dali Lama lives quietly in the city's tree village where she doles out advice with steaming cups of bitter Root Tea. An expert on the history of Foretimes, her renowned wisdom has guided many an adventurer through the Five Worlds and her motherly demeanour comforted those suffering from Necroth's supremacy.
