By the end of 2001 it had sold more than 4.7 million.
In its first 12 months it sold more than 6.5 million.

Launched in March 2003.
In its first week it sold 400,000.
In its first 12 months it sold 6.75 million.
Franchise facts
More Game Boy Advance units have sold in the past two years than the original Game Boy® sold in its first eight years.
Since its launch, the Game Boy Advance line has sold more than 21 million units.
Since its launch the Game Boy Advance has outsold PlayStation 2 in the United States.
The entire Game Boy franchise has outsold the entire PlayStation franchise.
