James Bond 007: Everything or Nothing (NGC)
Intro:
Bond, James Bond. That is the famous line spoken by the most popular fictional spy of our generation. James Bond 007 is a phenomenon that rivals competing franchises like Star Wars, Star Trek and Pokemon. Its gaming license hasn’t had the same track record though. James Bond games have varied in terms of quality. Some have been great, while others were downright horrible. Agent Under Fire (NGC, PS2 and X-Box) received mixed reviews because while it gave a good sense of being Bond, it didn’t do much else. So they improved on the formula with Nightfire (NGC, PS2, PC and X-Box). Not only did they have Pierce Brosnan’s face (not voice), they also had intriguing gameplay and its own title song (a homage to the film franchise). So now it’s another year and its time for another Bond. It seems that the developers intend to churn out Bond games faster than the movies. It would not only help the games recognition, but the films as well. Everything or Nothing is a game that takes everything built upon in the last few years of Bond games, and throws it away. Yes you hear me correctly. It throws every little aspect of the franchise away in an effort to make something truly enjoyable and fresh.

Gone is the first person view that has made Bond a video game name, and in is the third person view. Now do not mistake this for the undeniably crappy Tomorrow Never Dies game as this game will take an innovative twist on things. The philosophy is that the first person installments let you see through Bond’s eyes. This game intends to make you feel as if you are playing through a first rate Bond movie. Everything or Nothing implements stealth and action elements seamlessly into the environments and the game takes advantage of a highly upgraded graphics engine. The game will feature a multiplayer mode that includes cooperative missions and don’t count out the nearly endless supply of Q-Gadgets. Shannon Elizabeth (Scary Movie, American Pie 1 and 2) has signed on as the first Bond girl to be rendered digitally. This will be the first time that a major star will be placed in the role of a digital Bond girl. This will obviously make the experience more akin to the film series (although its doubtful it will provide much of a career boost as it has for stars like Halle Berry). The biggest surprise can be found in Bond himself as he is now not only rendered as Pierce Brosnan, but he will also be voiced by the actor for the first time. Once again, you will be traveling to many different exotic locations that will surely wet your appetite for adventure. At this point in development, the game looks sharp but at this stage is can go both ways. Not much is currently known about the story but hopefully more details will arrive in the coming months before its release. Hopefully it will turn out to be a pretty good game, as good if not better than the previous installments. I can’t wait to see what kind of theme song they attempt with this title.
