Lost Kingdoms Review
Introduction As the first RPG for the Nintendo Gamecube, I had high hopes for this
game. Fantasy role playing with cards and magical powers, wow! Well,
the story needed a little work... no, a lot of work, but it's all
good.
Gameplay Speaking of obviously below budgeted things, the sound in this game
is horrible! I could do better on my computer, seriously! The music
is repetitive and boring, and the sound effects on not even worth
mentioning. My preference is to mute the TV in turn on some Pillar.
Fun Finally, next come the gameplay, which is great! If it were for the
PS1. Frankly, it really disappointed me because it jumps and lags.
The controls are somewhat difficult to learn; you can't just jump
right in and know how to play. It's not very intuitive.
Story At first thought the graphics were good, then nothing to write home
but in reality, they're not great. OK, flying time is reminiscent of
the old PS1 graphics... meaning, looks exactly like them... Kind of
stinks. The monsters and such are pretty cool looking, but some of
them look extremely bad! Unfortunately, because of how the program
is executed, if there's too much going on, the gameplay starts
lagging. Just one of the many things to show that this was a
reasonably low budget game.
Graphics Some people think it's more
fun than a barrel of monkeys while others can't even stay awake! It
all depends on what you like. BUT, the multiplayer gameplay is a lot
more fun. There's just something about taking blood in being able to
see the person's reactions. Though it's a disadvantage when they're
bigger than you and have an anger management problem.
Sound Now, on to replay value... There's not much. Will keep players
better, again, but it's not that great. The game goes extremely
quickly into be finished without too many problems but there are huge
amounts of "extras" that could be found. Though why you would want
to take the effort, I don't know!
Conclusion If a little more money, time and effort were put into this game, it
would probably be a lot better than it is. Overall, all to say this
game is good to buy, if you can find it for $15 or less
