Dragon Ball Z: The Legacy of Goku8.5

Dragon Ball Z: The Legacy of Goku Review

Introduction
The infectious anime series that has enthralled millions in its fierce action and rough stylistic visuals is finally giving it fans a game worth owning. The series has had only one American release and that was far from memorable. This game uses the Adventure/RPG formula and makes its style very close to that of the series. Fans of the series will be happy to know that many of the areas and characters from the series are here and all in full force. The game is not perfect by any means. What it does do, is provide justice to the franchise by providing a good and decent experience. Its worth the wait for fans but many do not think they should have had to wait this long for a true Dragon Ball Z game.

Gameplay
The sound is fairly decent and it does not disappoint. It has somewhat catchy and familiar tunes that may ring a bell at fans. Its nothing groundbreaking, but either is the game. The sound effects are interesting and while they can become repetitive, they don't usually become to much of a problem. I think that a little more work could have been done. Look on the bright side though, its Dragon Ball Z's first Game Boy Advance game, so cutting some slack wouldn't hurt, but I have to be honest.

Story
The game's visual do well to represent the series visual flair and they have fully succeeded. Even though the characters are super deformed, they closely resemble their television counterparts. The environments are crisp and detailed and also resemble what it shown on TV. The animations are decent and the battles are full of neat little explosions. Overall the graphics are a must see.

Graphics
The gameplay is fun and is similar to many Adventure/RPG's in the same vein. The pace may be slow and plodding at first but believe me that it gets better much later on. The battles are great fun except for some minor control issues and that is sometimes difficult to hit the enemy or even dodge. The game is quite long and will last most gamers awhile. I seriously recommend this game for Dragon Ball Z fans and for other gamers looking for a good game fix. Go out and buy this. You will not be disappointed.
