Aero the Acrobat7

Aero the Acrobat Review

Introduction
The Graphics are basic platform fare and while they provide nothing groundbreaking, they do serve as eye candy fro m a time where games were based on color. The 16-bit generation was all about color and this game doesn't disappoint in that area as it provides a more color filled experience than the recent Game Boy Advance Klonoa game. The game also achieves greatness in the area of animations. The main character and even the enemies contain fluid animation that moves along without a hitch. The only nitpick about the graphics I have is the fact that the enemies models are a little too simple.

Gameplay
The Gameplay is no doubt the most interesting aspect of this game as it ends up being pure senseless fun. It basically consists of Aero getting from point a to point b (like the sonic games). Basically run from the left to the right. Except there are cannons, platforms, poles, loops and hoops and it makes for a standard platform game. But with added fun. You can glide, spin, shoot stars and tons of other things. The thing that makes this game slightly difficult is that you have to find your star ammo and its few and far between. And remember that its not always easy in this game to just run away from enemies. The game has a few interesting puzzles too but I'm not going to get into specifics about them because it would ruin the fun. The game takes a couple days but nothing more and there is limited reason to play it over after its done. The game is a fine port that only suffers from what all other ports suffer from .That would be the transition from a console to a handheld. It only hinders the control slightly so its nothing to cry about. So save up and go buy Aero if you feel you need a good does of handy dandy nostalgia. I mean it seriously. GO!

Story
Sound is also another bright aspect of this game because it presents the player with many goofy tunes that resemble those from a circus (hmm so that's where the game takes place). The music does on occasion become annoying but it never makes you want to stop playing (like some recent games). The sound effects are light and of course represent the circus state of mind as they too sound quite upbeat and jolly. I have no gripes about the games sound only i wish that there was a little more variety in the tunes.
