SSX Tricky Review
Introduction SSX was an awesome game for the PS2, and just when it started to get old, they pull off releasing another astounding game! At first SSX Tricky didn't seem worth the time, but after giving it a chance (only because NGC didn't have SSX), it's even better then the original.
Gameplay Keeping with the environmental kick, I mentioned that the environment is 3D and whack, but didn't show how it was whack. First, turn up the volume on your TV. Second, turn SSX Tricky on. Finally, select
Psymon...

...
Fun Like SSX, Tricky has a pretty decent multiplayer mode. There are some games that are better, and a lot that are worse, but it's tough to find a fair player to match up against because when you've been playing a lot, you're really good, and if you've stopped for a while, it'll take a little bit of time to get back into it. There's no luck or button mashing involved in this game, it's all about skill!
Story Game designers always strive to put an environment that mirrors gameplay in the menus and intro before the game gets going. Seeing as pretty much everything that could possibly be 3D throughout the game is, I think that the environment is just a bit 3D and kinda whack! It's awesome! I'm sure that eventually... well, pretty soon, there will be a game with better rendered graphics, but I don't know how.
Graphics And that, my friends, is why the game is whack. For all those who haven't played the game, Psymon is one of my personal favorite characters in SSX Tricky. He's tattooed, pierced, and totally insane!
Sound Just listen to some of his phrases...
"It's not the pain; it's the ridicule that hurts!"
"Whoa, my piercings are whistling!"
(Don't quote me on that... remember, this is off the top of my head,
at 6 am, in the car.) There are a bunch of others, but 6 am is way
too early for me to be awake on a normal Saturday morning!
Conclusion Overall, this is a really good snow boarding game, and I've seen nearly every one that's come down the line. Though it's no where near possible with some of the tricks that can be pulled off, SSX Tricky is supposed to be an unbelievable game!
